‘Bhai par Rahu Kaal ka prakop hai’ – Suryakumar Yadav suffers from eye injury after dropping a catch in MI’s clash against DC
Mumbai Indians batter Surykumar Yadav suffered an injury on the eye while fielding in the ongoing IPL 2023 match against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi. He got his eye hurt while attempting a catch during Dc’s innings.
On the fourth ball of the 17th over in the first innings. Axar Patel hit the ball by Jason Behrendorff up in the air towards the long-on region. The ball went straight to the hands of Suryakumar. However, Surya couldn’t complete the catch as the ball went through his hands and hit him in the eye before falling over the ropes for a six.
The 32-year-old immediately went down in pain and the physio had to come on the field to check on him. Surykumar left the field suffering from pain, and Ramandeep Singh replaced him on the field as a substitute.
DC got bowled out got 172 runs
Talking about the match, batting first, DC got bowled for 172 runs in 19.4 overs. Skipper David Warner scored his third half-century of the season as he got out scoring 51 off 47 with six boundaries. While Axar Patel, went on to score his maiden IPL fifty as he got out after smashing 54 runs off 25 balls with four fours and five sixes. While Meredith took 1 wicket and Shokeen put 1 in his bag.
“I was just trying to back myself and looking to hit anything in my arc. I went in with an attacking mindset so that paid off. When I saw the wicket, the ball was stopping a bit. So, I was trying to hold my shape and waiting to strike everything in my zone,” said Axar at the mid-innings break about his innings.
“On this wicket, it’s important to hold the shape and not hit every ball. (Bowling) When we saw the wicket, I knew I’ll have to bowl here. It’s a challenging total. Hopefully, we can defend it,” the DC vice-captain further added.

From Mr 360 to Shoonya Kumar Yadav the ride has been a roller coaster. We Indians believe a lot in planetary positions etc. That is not a myth- its a science. Hopefully things will change for the better soon. If any doubt please ask Emperor Kohli on what he went through.

He has been so timid in the field tonight. Looks totally lost out there. Seems like the bad patch has gotten to him. Hope he comes back soon.
