The 15th season of the Indian T20 League has come to a close after a little more than two months of action. It was a season of unexpected things happening in the league with the most successful teams failing while the lesser successful teams doing well. Some of the Indian stars failed to impress while the uncapped players did well.

These players’ contributions have caught the opposition team by surprise and had no answers. These players might play for the Indian team in the future and some of them have already been selected. In this listicle, we will discuss the best XI Indian players from the Indian T20 League 2022.

Top Order batters

  1. KL Rahul

The skipper and opening batter of Lucknow was the highest run-getter for his side with 616 runs in 15 games. He averaged 51.33 and had a decent strike rate of 135.38 including two hundreds.

2. Shubhman Gill 

Gujarat’s opening batter had a topsy-turvy season with the bat but managed 483 runs in 16 games. He regained his form at the business end of the season when it mattered the most as the team went on to win the title.

3. Sanju Samson (WK) (VC)

The skipper and wicketkeeper batter of Rajasthan had decent season with 458 runs in 17 games as his team finished as the runner-up.

Middle Order batters and All-Rounders

4. Deepak Hooda

The right-hander took the responsibility of providing stability to a shaky batting line-up of Lucknow with 451 in 15 games. He can provide a bowling option as well.

5. Nitish Rana

Playing for Kolkata, he scored 361 runs in 14 games amidst the team having a poor season as they lost eight games out of 14 matches.

6. Rahul Tewatia 

After having a tough season in 2021 for Rajasthan, he moved to Gujarat this year and became the dependable finisher for the team. The left-hander scored 217 runs in 16 games at a strike rate of 147.61.

7. Hardik Pandya (C)

Readers might say that he batted higher for Gujarat but that was because his side didn’t had a stable number three and four batters. However, he has done well at this position over the years which is why he will bat at this position. The right-hander scored 487 runs this year. He also took three match-winning wickets in the final.

Bowlers

8. Prasidh Krishna

The right-arm pacer took 19 wickets in 17 games while bowling in the powerplay and in the death sometimes.

9. Yuzvendra Chahal

The leggie was the highest wicket-taker in the competition with 27 wickets in 17 games.

10. Umran Malik

The tearaway pacer took 22 wickets in 14 games and troubled the batters by bowling at a pace of high 150s.

11. Harshal Patel

One of the best death overs specialist took 19 wickets in 15 games.
