India head coach Rahul Dravid has been very selective in terms of public appearances over the years. Dravid predominantly appears in the meetings related to cricket. However, the former India skipper has found himself in a controversy when it was announced that Dravid will be attending Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP)  Yuva Morcha National Committee session in Dharamshala from May 12 to 15.

The announcement was made by BJP MP Vishal Nehria from Dharamshala. To be noted, the Chief Minister of the Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur will be present at the meeting along with party’s national president JP Nadda will also attend the meeting. As many as 139 delegates from different fields will also mark their presence in the meeting.

“The National Working Committee of BJP Yuva Morcha will be held in Dharamshala from May 12 to 15. The national leadership of BJP and the leadership of Himachal Pradesh will be involved. BJP National President JP Nadda, National Organization Minister and Union Minister will also attend the session,” said Nehria.

Nehria added that Dravid will also participate in the event, given his significant contribution to the field. He added that Dravid’s presence will send a message to the youth to excel in different fields. “Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid will also participate in this. Owing to his success, a message will be given among the youth that we can move forward not only in politics but also in other fields,” he added.

However, the Board For Control Of Cricket in India (BCCI) has denied the development and revealed that Dravid will not be attending the meeting. The media manager of the BCCI clarified that the news is false. The head coach of the Indian team is currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and recently held a meeting with players from North Eastern States at the academy premises.
