Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, injured himself during the second ODI of the three-match series on December 7, Wednesday and the Indian batter, however, managed to make a comeback and score an unbeaten 51, in vain as it came in a losing cause. As things stand, it has been reported that the Indian captain might miss the upcoming Test series against the Bangla Tigers.

As things stand, the Indian think tank will have to break their heads to find the perfect replacement for the Indian captain. On the other hand, we decided to handpick three players who could potentially replace the Indian batter if he gets ruled out of the Test series.

Here are the three players who could replace Rohit Sharma in the squad:

1) Mayank Agarwal:

Mayank Agarwal, the Indian cricketer, faded out of the Indian Test setup in March 2022 and has failed to make a comeback for the team. However, the right-handed batter, known for his stupendous ability to open the innings, might as well come as a perfect replacement for the Indian captain.

To add more, Agarwal averages around 43 in the longest format of the game with over 1400 runs in the 19 matches that he had played so far. Much to the stupefaction of the Indian fans, the right-handed batter has 4 centuries and 6 half-centuries to his name in the format.

2) Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal impressed everyone with his batting skills in the 2020 U19 World Cup and since then, it has been an upward journey for the Indian youngster. The southpaw is yet to make his international debut and given that he has the potential, his national call-up might be just around the corner.

Concerning his First Class records, Jaiswal has gathered more than 1161 runs in the format at an average of around 89.30. In addition to it, in the 8 matches that he has played so far, Jaiswal has scored 6 centuries, eventually knocking on the doors of the selectors.

3) Abhimanyu Easwaran

Abhimanyu Easwaran, the talented batter from India, is one of the most looked upon and elegant batters of recent times. The right-handed batter could take the game away from the opponents and has the ability to open the innings as well.

To add more to his First Class records, the batter has gathered over 5400 runs in the format at an average of around 44. Speaking of his milestones, Easwaran has 17 centuries and 53 half-centuries to his name. If at all he gets to replace Rohit in the Test series, one has to agree that it can be career-changing for him.
