Ayan Mukerji drops major update on Brahmastra sequel

Ayan Mukerji had previously stated that the two Brahmastra sequels will be “bigger and more ambitious than Part One” in April of this year.

The second and third Brahmastra films have been confirmed by director Ayan Mukerji, who described them as “development in progress”. He makes this statement as Brahmastra Part One – in the midst of allegations that parts two and three of the movie had been postponed – Shiva celebrated its one-year anniversary.

Ayan published a video montage of Brahmastra moments on Instagram on Saturday. “On September 9, 2022, we introduced you to the astral world. celebrating Brahmastra’s first year. Development of Brahmastra parts two and three is ongoing. “Happy 1st Birthday, Brahmstra!” Ayan wrote as the post’s caption.

“Thank you for your creativity, hard work, and invaluable life and filmmaking lessons! P.S. Soon I’ll be sharing some preliminary artwork from the Brahmstra journey’s next phase,” he added.

A follower commented on the post, “Can’t wait for Brahmastra part 2 Ayan sir! Congratulations on your diligent work and the team’s dedication. I’m still optimistic about Brahmastra 2 and 3 despite the horrible writing and dialogue.”

An Instagram user wrote, “Dev should only be Ranbir!! Father-son acting team, please. Please view Jawan for guidance. Bring part 2 soon.” “RK serving as DEV is an absolute must. Happy New Year! We urgently need Ranbir and Deepika to play Dev and Amrita, sir,” another comment read.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt appeared in Ayan’s hit 2022 film Brahmastra. The film served as the launch pad for a high-profile fantasy adventure series. The story of Brahmastra centres on a character named Shiva (Ranbir), who sets out with Isha (Alia), a woman he falls in love with at first sight, on a quest to discover the source of his exceptional abilities.

The film, which was made by Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions and Star Studios, also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy. Shah Rukh Khan and Nagarjuna make notable appearances in the movie. The movie was one of the biggest commercial triumphs of the Hindi cinema industry during the pandemic, grossing over 400 crores at the global box office.

Ayan had previously stated that the two Brahmastra sequels will be “bigger and more ambitious than Part One” in April of this year. Additionally, he had said that he would shoot them simultaneously. Two sequels, which Ayan had already indicated will arrive in 2026 and 2027.
