‘Aurat apni pasand ke ladke ke lie itne paise kharch kar sakti hai’- Hyderabad owner Kavya Maran trends on Twitter after buying Harry Brook for 13.25 crores

Published on

The Hyderabad franchise had the biggest purse heading into the mini-auction. The franchise had released Kane Williamson from the squad because of his poor form and were in need of a skipper to lead for the next season. They didn’t bid for Williamson at the auction, which wasn’t surprising at all. The Orange Army went for Mayank Agarwal, which was pretty much on the expected lines. He will open the innings and could be a suitable option for captaincy.

The most interesting bid, however, came in the form of Harry Brook. England’s rising star has been making waves in international cricket for quite some time and the pundits had expected him to fetch a good contract.

Hyderabad needed some firepower in the middle order and they didn’t think twice before splurging money for the England batter. The franchise’s owner, Kavya Maran raised bid for Brook and was in no mood to hand over the English batter to some other franchise.

Hyderabad was involved in a bidding war with a couple of other franchises and, eventually, bought him for a whopping sum of 13.5 crores. Netizens came up with numerous reactions following Brook’s association with the franchise.

They reminded everyone of the biggest purse they had at the auction and also made a lot of memes on Kavya Maran after buying the services of Harry Brook at the auction.

Here’s a look at some of the reactions:

Apart from Brook and Agarwal, Hyderabad bought the services of Heinrich Klaasen for the wicket-keeping option. They needed a wrist spinner and got in the form of Adil Rashid. The English spinner had a great time at the 20-20 World Cup and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the upcoming edition.

Hyderabad made bidding for as many as 13 players and, because of a big purse, they managed to buy 12 out of them. Who will lead the side in the upcoming edition is still unknown. Mayank Agarwal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar look the potential options as of now.
