In the third ODI match against Australia, India was called to bowl first. The decision of Australian skipper Steve Smith went well with the visitors, as they added 188 runs in 25 overs. In very humid and hot weather, India clinched a wicket but then failed to make an impact. Meanwhile, former India head coach Ravi Shastri comments about the Rajkot pitch.

After a brief partnership with David Warner Australia opener Mitchell Marsh, along with Steve Smith, added 110 runs for the second wicket. Both of the batters looked comfortable in their 50+-run innings. Looking at them comfortable with bats, Shastri said, “Rajkot pitch is one of the best highways in India”. His comments came after Mitchell Marsh and David Warner had an absolutely amazing batting performance.

Warner, in his inning, scored 56 runs off 34 balls with the help of six fours and four sixes. On the other hand, Marsh, in his innings, scored 96 runs off 84 balls with the help of thirteen fours and three sixes. Their batting performances not only propelled Australia towards a big target but also shattered India’s hopes for an easy win in the third game.

Can Australia make a comeback?

After losing the first two games of the series, the Aussies are looking in a comfortable position in this game. After the prestigious ODI World Cup 2023, Australia will hope to get back on winning track. They have lost five out of five games in the last few weeks against India and South Africa in ODIs. On the other hand, India is coming here after winning the Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka.

It’s worth noting that India will start their ODI World Cup campaign against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8. However, the team will then move to Delhi to support Afghanistan at Arun Jaitley Stadium. In another high-voltage clash, India will face arch-rival Pakistan at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.
