The Asia Cup 2022 culminated on Sunday with Sri Lanka winning their sixth title of the tournament. The tournament was full of thrilling encounters which kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. Throughout the course of the T20 competition, new heroes emerged every day who took their teams home on the back of their stupendous performances.

All six teams were full of several superstars who turned the match on its head on numerous occasions. On that note, let’s make a complete star-studded Playing XI of the Asia Cup  2022, selecting the best players from all the teams:

TOP ORDER

1. Mohammad Rizwan (WK) – The Pakistan opener was the highest run scorer of the Asia Cup, scoring 281 runs in six innings at an average of 56 and a strike rate of 117. He will be the perfect fit for the opening position where he can play an anchor role throughout the course of the innings.

2. Kusal Mendis – The Sri Lankan opener gave blistering starts to his team throughout the tournament. Scoring at a strike rate of 156, he will form a prolific opening pair with Rizwan where he can launch an all-out attack on the opposition.

3. Virat Kohli – The star Indian batter finally returned to form in the ongoing Asia Cup. Kohli brought up his elusive 71st international hundred and finished as the second highest run-getter of the tournament with 276 runs to his name in five innings at an average of 92 and a strike rate of 147.

4. Bhanuka Rajapaksa – Rajapaksa played the knock of his life rescuing the Sri Lankan innings in the final. He was also the highest run-scorer of the tournament for Sri Lanka scoring 191 runs in six innings at an average of 47 and a strike rate of 149.

5. Suryakumar Yadav – The explosive batter has a wide range of shots in his arsenal which can destroy any bowling lineup in the world. Yadav scored 139 runs in the tournament at a magnificent strike rate of 163 and an average of 34.

6. Dasun Shanaka(C) – Shanaka showed great character in leading his side to the Asia Cup title after a humiliating defeat against Afghanistan in the opening match. He scored 111 runs for his team and also picked up two wickets.

7. Mohammad Nawaz -Mohammad Nawaz was terrific with both bat and ball for Pakistan throughout the tournament. He scored 79 runs at a strike rate of 143 and was also the third-highest wicket-taker of the tournament picking up eight wickets.

8. Wanindu Hasaranga – Hasaranga played a crucial role in the final to seal the 6th Asia Cup title victory for his team. He was the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament, picking up nine wickets at an average of 18. He also scored 60 runs at a strike rate of 150.

9. Haris Rauf – Rauf was the leader of the pace attack for Pakistan throughout the Asia Cup. He picked up eight wickets in the tournament at an average of 19.

10. Chamika Karunaratne – Karunaratne was the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament for Sri Lanka. He picked up seven wickets at an average of 20.

11. Dilshan Madushanka – Madushanka being a left-arm seamer will provide the much-needed variety in the bowling attack. He rose to the limelight after he bowled Kohli for a duck against India. He picked up six wickets in the tournament at an average of 25.
