Pakistan vs England

The sixth T20I of the seven-match series between Pakistan and England got underway on Friday at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Having taken a lead of 3-2, Pakistan took the field to seal the series in the game. England captain Moeen Ali won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first on the wicket.

The captain’s decision was further vindicated by the seamers who got rid of Mohammad Haris and Shan Masood early on in the innings. While wickets fell at the other end, captain Babar Azam looked unscathed by it as he continued to play his majestic shots all around the ground.

Pakistan lost their third wicket at the score of 62 which brought Iftikhar Ahmed to the crease. Ahmed and Babar added 48 runs for the fourth wicket before Ahmed fell prey to Sam Curran for 31 off 21 balls. No other batter other than Babar could make a significant contribution to the Pakistan total.

The Pakistan captain looked in sublime touch as he clobbered the ball to parts of the ground after settling in. Courtesy of his unbeaten 87 off 59 balls with seven boundaries and three sixes, Pakistan managed to reach 169 at the end of 20 overs.

The English chase began in grad fashion with openers Philip Salt and Alex Hales launching an onslaught on the Pakistan bowlers. They added 55 runs in 3.5 overs as Pakistan were staring down the barrel. After Hales’ dismissal David Malan came to the crease who was also in no mood to settle down. At the other end, Philip Salt put on his scintillating stroke play on display ripping apart the Pakistan bowling attack.

England batters were relentless in their approach as Pakistan couldn’t find any answers to their all-out attack. They picked up their second wicket at the score of 128 with Shadab Khan getting Malan lbw after making 26 off 16. On the other end, there was no stopping salt, who was launching the ball into the stands for fun. Courtesy of their ruthless batting, England managed to chase down 170 in just 14.3 overs and won the match by eight wickets.

Salt remained unbeaten on 88 off 41 balls and Ben Duckett was unbeaten on 26 off 16 balls. By the virtue of this win, England managed to level the series 3-3 with the last game to be played on Sunday. Here’s how Twitter reacted to England’s emphatic win:
