Andhra Premier League 2022: Match 3 & 4- Match Report

Bezawada Tigers move to the top of the league table with two points.

The first day of the Andhra Premier League was affected by rain and the fans could not see a full match as a result. The weather after that has remained good and hence a full game was allowed to take place for the first time on day two.

Day two of APL saw a double header played. Let’s look at the match report for both.

Andhra Premier League 2022 Match 3: Coastal Riders vs Rayalaseema Kings

Coastal Kings decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Coming to bat first, the RYLS team got off to a decent start with Abhishek Reddy (78 off of 52) and Thanneru Vamsi Krishna (17 off 24) adding 47 for the first wicket. Abhishek hit 12 boundaries on his way to a half-century and was the highest scorer for the team.

With Gontu Reddy hitting an 18 off of 13 at the end, RYLS was able to reach a decent total of 155/7. This target proved too much for the CSK team as lost the game by 28 runs at the end.

CSK lost their captain on the third ball of their batting innings and could not recover under the pressure of a huge target. Wicket-keeper batter Mitta Lekhaz Reddy was their top scorer with 44 out of 37 balls.

Andhra Premier League 2022 Match 4: Vizag Warriors vs Bezawada Tigers

The fourth match saw VZW and BZW clash in their first match. BZW won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first, the VZW team could only manage 118/10 at the scoreboard. Captain Ashwin Hebbar with 35 off of 27 was their best batter. KP Sai Rahul with three wickets was BZW’s best bowler. Kavuri Saiteja and Manish Golamaru took two wickets each.

Chasing this small a target came too easy for the BZW team. Maheep Kumar with 42 off of 25 and Bodapati Sumanth with 23 off of 21 gave a good start. Pyla Avinash (31*) and Ricky Bhui (21*) took the game home.
