Over the years, the Indian T20 League has been broadcasted in various languages across India. After all, a country like India has multiple languages and dialects. Over the years, the league is just broadcasted in English and Hindi but also in languages such as Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, etc. However, for the first time in 15 years, the tournament was broadcasted in the Bhojpuri dialect too.

The decision around this was made late last year. Meanwhile, on the first day of the tournament (March 31), the fans experienced the commentary in the Bhojpuri dialect for the first time. They absolutely loved it and are making memes on it. So without further ado, let’s have a look at the tweets and memes made by the fans.

Defending champions get off to a winning start in the Indian T20 League 2023

Meanwhile, in the opening game of the tournament between Gujarat and Chennai, the defending champions won. After being asked to bat first, the four-time winners, Chennai amassed 178/7 with Ruturaj Gaikwad (92) carrying the batting on his shoulders. For the home team, Mohammed Shami, Rashid Khan, and Alzarri Joseph took two wickets each.

In reply, the Ahmedabad-based side chased down the target in 19.2 overs, thanks to Shubman Gill (63), Sai Sudharsan (22), Rahul Tewatia (15*), and Rashid Khan (10*). Sudharsan was the impact sub replacing the injured Kane Williamson. The latter tried to save a boundary but got himself injured. With the Blackcaps player not being able to take part in the game, Sudharsan replaced him.

On the other hand, Tushar Deshpande replaced Ambati Rayudu. It was a tactical move given the Yellow army was defending the target. For those who don’t know, teams can name their playing XI and five impact subs. Only one of five subs can take part in the game. On the other hand, the replaced played won’t take any part in the game further.
