Match-winner, Pant quoted the tweet and replied, “It did, indeed, Yuvi pa” with a wink emoji. Fans are trying to make sense of who the person, Pant had a 45-minute conversation with.
Pant, who was named the Player of the Match, was beaming with pride in the post-match conference and said, “Hopefully I remember (this knock) for the rest of my life. I was focusing on one ball at a time when I was batting. When your team is under pressure and you bat like that .. something I aspire to do,” said a happy Pant.
Hardik Pandya was handed the Player of the Series award for his contribution with the ball as well as bat. In the ODI series, the right-handed all-rounder made 100 runs and took six wickets.
He spoke at length about his partnership with Rishabh Pant in the post-match interview. The Gujarat captain said, “I was just repeating the same thing over and over again, it was important that we do not take any risks. The kind of talent Rishabh has and the kind of talent I have, without risks we can score runs.”
“It was about not losing any wicket, there was just one way through which England could have come back that was if we lost wickets in a cluster. I was repeating the same thing, to build a partnership and bring the match close,” added Pandya.
