Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir slams Multan DC for mistreatment with his family members, demands action
Amir called for immediate action and urged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to address the misconduct
Former Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir has again found himself at the centre of a controversy during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 match in Multan. He has accused the Deputy Commissioner of Multan of mistreating his family members. The incident occurred during a crucial match between the Quetta Gladiators and the Multan Sultans.
Amir, playing for Quetta Gladiators, took to Twitter to express his disappointment and condemn the ‘unacceptable behaviour’. He also alleged ‘abuse of power’ by the Deputy Commissioner. According to Amir, security personnel, acting under the Deputy Commissioner’s orders, abruptly removed his family from their seats. Amir called for immediate action and urged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to address the misconduct and hold those responsible accountable.
“Shocked by the unacceptable behaviour of the Deputy Commissioner of Multan, who reportedly mistreated my family, arrogantly claiming ownership of the ground and unjustly ejecting them during a match. This abuse of power is intolerable! Urging authorities for immediate action,” wrote Amir on Twitter.
Moin Khan’s family also faced the same issue!
The controversy took a broader turn when reports emerged that the families of other renowned cricketers, including Moin Khan and Umar Amin, also faced similar harassment at the stadium. This has heightened concerns about the conduct of officials overseeing PSL 2024.
Amidst the controversy, Mohammad Amir has continued to showcase his cricketing talent in the ongoing tournament. Despite his commendable performance with four wickets in as many games, averaging 34.5 and maintaining an economy of 8.62, the incident has cast a shadow over his bowling brilliance.
The controversy not only puts a spotlight on the alleged mistreatment by authorities but also raises questions about the management of PSL 2024 and the need for prompt action to address such issues and maintain the integrity of the tournament. It’s worth noting that in the ongoing tournament, Amir has not been as effective as expected.
