‘What a Player’- Fans bow down to Rajat Patidar as he slams a century in Ranji final for Madhya Pradesh

The Ranji Trophy final going on at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru is giving the fans one moment after the other to cheer for their teams. After Mumbai scored 374 runs in their first innings, Madhya Pradesh gave a strong reply to their first innings effort and are currently 475/6 at lunch on Day 4 leading by 101 runs.

The highlight of the first session on Day 4 was when Rajat Patidhar brought up his hundred. The right-handed batsman is batting on 120 with Saransh Jain who’s on 20 as Madhya Pradesh is looking to bat Mumbai out of the match.

Patidhar got a reprieve on Day 3 as he looked to play a lofted shot on the off-side only to find a fielder at point. But it was unfortunate for Mumbai as the spinner Shams Mulani had overstepped giving Patidhar a ‘sigh of relief’. After this incident, Patidhar began batting a bit cautiously as he approached his hundred in the final.

Patidhar came into limelight when he became the first uncapped player to score a hundred in the knock out stages of the Indian T20 league. He went on to score a crucial half-century in the very next game for the Bangalore franchise. The crowd at the Chinnaswamy stadium seemed to remember Patidhar’s heroics in the league as the minute he walked out to bat the stadium erupted with loud cheers for the Madhya Pradesh batsman.

The thumping knock from Patidhar garnered many reactions from the fans on Twitter as the Social Media platform was flooded with tweets congratulating the batsman on his superb knock.
