‘Kohli ki Kami poori kar diya’ – Fans credit Yashasvi Jaiswal’s century for India’s dominance on day 3 of Rajkot Test against England
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s ton puts India in firm control on day 3 of third Test against England.
India ended the third day of the third Test vs England on a high. The home side led by 322 runs with 8 wickets in hand after having taken a lead of 126 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the star of the show for his 2nd century of the series.
The youngster was cautious to begin with but shifted his gears once he got his eye in. Once Jaiswal found his groove none of the English bowlers were spared. Even James Anderson was made to look pedestrian with the ball in hand.
Cramps due to excessive heat forced Jaiswal off the field while batting on 104. Rajat Patidar was out for a duck yet again as his horror start to Test cricket continues. At stumps, Shubman Gill was batting on 65 with Kuldeep Yadav on three.
India establishes firm control over England in Rajkot
Rohit Sharma and his team are in the driver’s seat thanks to the amazing century by Yashasvi Jaiswal. The 22-year-old scored his third Test ton and second of the series against England. With two Tests still to go and this entire innings left, Jaiswal has already gone past 400 runs for the series.
England began day three at 207/2 with Ben Duckett and Joe Root at the crease. Jasprit Bumrah struck first when he dismissed Joe Root for 18. Jonny Bairstow was the next man out when he was out to Kuldeep Yadav for a duck.
Ben Stokes and Ben Duckett added 36 runs for the 5th wicket before Kuldeep Yadav struck again. The English opener saw the ball stop and take the bottom edge of the bat top giving Gill an easy catch. Duckett was out for 153 runs from 151 balls with 23 fours and two sixes.
After the lunch break, the Indian bowlers showed their class with the ball. Ravindra Jadeja got the wicket of Ben Stokes for 41, while Siraj got Foakes for 13. Rehan Ahmed was done in by a Siraj Yorker while Hartley was stumped by Dhruv Jurel for 9. James Anderson saw his off-pole disturbed as Siraj ended the England innings.

The pitch is completely batting track. I don't know why England couldn't continue the start given by Duckett.
