Taking look at some of Cristiano Ronaldo’s unbeatable records as the superstar turns 39
Cristiano Ronaldo has some of the world’s best records to his name as we dwell into some of them.
Considered by many to be among the best football players of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo made a lasting impression throughout his twenty-year tenure at the top of the game. Ronaldo’s career peaked when he joined Real Madrid, when his unwavering skill allowed him to shatter records. In just 140 league games, he scored 150 goals, breaking the previous record, and by the end of his nine-year stay, he was the top scorer in Spain history with 451 goals.
During his time at Real Madrid, Ronaldo had incredible results in the Champions League, including seven separate seasons in which he scored ten goals or more and four championship triumphs between 2011–12 and 2017–18.
Being the first player to take home every major championship at two separate clubs (Manchester United as well as Real Madrid) is merely one more feather in Ronaldo’s crown. This includes winning the domestic super cup, domestic league, domestic trophy, Champions League, and Club World Cup.
Beyond his achievements on the pitch, Ronaldo achieved a spot in the list of Guinness World Records by playing in 200 games for Portugal, over 20 years after making his debut. His legendary career is still thriving, and his latest transfer to Al-Nassr suggests a smooth transition and exciting new phases in the life of this football hero.
More records of the GOAT!
With the highest number of goals recorded by a player, Cristiano Ronaldo is the only player at the highest level of the world football rankings. To hold this record, Ronaldo has scored 128 goals for his country. With two strikes versus the Republic of Ireland in September 2021, Ronaldo eclipsed Ali Daei’s milestone of 109 goals to become the player having the most goals for his country in global football.
In men’s football, Cristiano Ronaldo became the sole athlete to have scored in 11 straight international competitions. Between 2004 and 2022, Ronaldo scored one or more goals for Portugal during international competitions. Cristiano Ronaldo is the player with the most appearances throughout the UEFA Champions League, which is the premier club competition in Europe, with 183 outings.
These are just some of the records held by Cristiano Ronaldo. There is absolutely no doubt about the skill of the attacker and he would be looking to add more records to his name in the next year or so.
