Watch: Joe Root stuns everybody with his reverse scoop six
Joe Root stuns everybody with a reverse scoop six during his century in the second Test match of the series against New Zealand.
Joe Root scored a match-winning century against New Zealand in the fourth innings of the first Test match at Lords. As it seems he has carried forward the momentum in the second match. He scored another century in the Test and broke several records during his innings. But a particular shot during his stay at the crease has grabbed the attention of the fans.
Root was batting 164 at this stage and Tim Southee was bowling to him. Root had already established his dominance over the Kiwi bowlers and it looked like he wanted to do something different. As the bowler bowled a ball round the off-stump Root reverse scooped it for a six over the third-man boundary. The ball was bowled at a good pace and a full length and Root’s innovation surprised the viewers as well as the opponents.
