5 Overseas Players RCB Can Buy in IPL 2024 Auction

Royal Challengers Bangalore might have a few players in their radar they might target.

In the next season, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Players would once again aim to win their first Indian Premier League championship. Prior to the auction, they held onto 17 players and swapped in two others. They brought in Cameron Green from the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Mayank Dagar from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Prior to that, on December 19, in Dubai, they must assemble a formidable team for the IPL 2024. They would want great players in their squad especially to try and improve their bowling arsenal. Let’s examine the five foreign players they may try to acquire in the next auctions.

Here are the 5 Overseas Players RCB Can Buy in IPL 2024 Auction

5) Pat Cummins

The release of key pacers has compounded the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s long-standing problem with bowling. With his extensive expertise, Pat Cummins appears to be the perfect choice to cover the gap in the pace department. A great leader, Cummins may provide RCB’s bowling unit consistency and direction, a vital component that has evaded them in prior years.

4) Mitchell Starc

Another foreign bowler that RCB may like to pursue during the IPL 2024 auction is Mitchell Starc. Josh Hazlewood, who appeared in just three games the season prior, was let go by the Bangalore team. Starc is one of the best fast bowlers of the modern era, so not much has to be stated about him. Among the teams vying for his attention will be RCB. Although the seasoned left-arm bowler hasn’t participated in the league after 2015, he has registered for the forthcoming IPL auction in the highest price range of Rs 2 crore.

3) Wanindu Hasaranga

Bangalore would love to have Hasaranga rejoin the team, but their auction budget is pretty tight. Since RCB is aware of Hasaranga’s value, they will probably try to place a bid for him at the auction. Excellent all-rounders like the adaptable Hasaranga of Sri Lanka are irreplaceable. The Lankan master would be the ideal addition to the team if they can get him for a reasonable price.

2) Rachin Ravindra

Rachin Ravindra excelled during the 2023 ODI World Cup, is someone RCB should consider adding to their squad. He also has some left-arm spin in his bowling, which is advantageous. The 24-year-old scored three hundreds and hammered 578 runs across 10 innings. He has taken 41 wickets in 53 T20 appearances as a respectable left-arm spinner. In the long run, Ravindra may be a starter for the Bangalore team as well as a useful utility player.

1) Travis Head

Bangalore would be wise to bring in a batsman such as Travis Head to begin the innings alongside Du Plessis and slide Virat Kohli to bat at number three. He has all the tools in the handbook to put the squad into an early lead. Additionally, the left-hander is playing at the top of his game currently, thus, he may be an excellent fit to the RCB lineup for the 2024 IPL. Considering Du Plessis’ age, Bangalore also requires a top-level attacker. He is currently 39 years old and might just play one more season.
