5) Veda Krishnamurthy
Veda Krishnamurthy, one of the top stars in the Indian women’s team over the past ten years, failed to secure a contract. Veda Krishnamurthy’s progress has been sidetracked by a few personal catastrophes; the 31-year-old was absent from the action for over three years now. Her difficulties are compounded by the fact that she has not been selected by a side for the first two Women’s Premier League seasons.
4) Kim Garth
Kim Garth made her international debut at the young age of 14. The all-rounder has only seen steady rise since then in her career. She has 41 ODIs and 55 T20Is under her belt and has been a crucial part of the Australian side. The bowler was expected to be one of the biggest buys in the WPL Auction 2024. However, to everyone’s dismay, she did not have any buyers in the edition of the WPL Auction till now.
3) Punam Raut
Punam Raut was unsold during WPL Auction 2024, which took place on December 9. This was the second year running where she went unsold. Despite having 3,282 international runs over her name and a wealth of experience, she did not get any buyers. representing the nation during four Tests, 73 ODIs, as well as 35 T20Is.
2) Devika Vediya
Devika Vaidya was much sought for, as seen by the UP Warriorz’s incredible INR 1.4 crore price in the previous auction. Vaidya is a southpaw leg-spinner who can bat at any position in the order and provide balance to any team. However, one of the mainstays in the UP team was unable to find a suitor in this year’s WPL Auction 2024
1) Chamira Athapaththu
Owing to her reccent form, Chamira Athapaththu, who has served as the face of women’s cricket in Sri Lanka. She was likely to be one of the main draws in this year’s auction. After amassing 552 runs in 14 games, the opening batter emerged as the WBBL’s second-highest run scorer. She also claimed nine wickets this year in the tournament. However, this was not enough to persuade the five franchise owners to buy her for the WPL 2024.
