‘Kya kheli hai India aaj’ – Fans react as India seal comfortable 44-run win over Australia in 2nd T20I encounter

Australia won the toss and opted to field first due to the dew factor in India. Although it was anticipated to be a rather sluggish surface, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s opening remarks gave everyone the impression that today’s pitch report was a farce. India scored 77 runs during the powerplay thanks to Jaiswal’s clever touches and punishing the poor balls.

Similar to the last game, Ishan Kishan grabbed the baton when he collapsed and assaulted the novice Tanveer Sangha. The goalie scored fifty runs in a flash before diving under sweeper cover. Rinku Singh completed the picture with his fearless hitting after Suryakyumar Yadav amused with some of his signature strokes.

Ruturaj played the ideal anchor the entire time by holding up the opposite end. While the other batsmen played aggressive knocks, he scored an important fifty. India notched their highest ever score against Australia in the T20Is as they reached a mammoth total of 235 after their 20 overs.

There was a fair quantity of dew in the second half, which made bowling conditions unfavourable. However, Australian batters lacked intelligence and their pursuit was hampered by their four wicket losses in the first eight overs.

That’s when Tim David as well as Marcus Stoinis let loose. At one point, they scored 31 runs in five balls straight, but their wickets let the runs pour in. Both Arshdeep Singh and Prasidh Krishna executed the yorker flawlessly.

However, Axar Patel alongside Ravi Bishnoi’s spin team was the one who opened the contest up to favour the Indians. Axar was the game’s most economical bowler, taking just one wicket.  Bishnoi was the most clinical spinner today as he was able to take three wickets.

This implied that the pacers had some leeway to work with even if they went for a few runs. Matthew Wade attempted to use his willow at the finish and scored 42 runs for himself, but that only narrowed the losing margin. India sealed the deal with a convincing 44-run win to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
