ODI World Cup 2023
‘Ye toh Gazab beizatti hogayi’ – Fans react as only 2 journalists attend Suryakumar Yadav’s press conference ahead of 1st T20I against Australia
The interim T20I skipper spoke about the heart-breaking defeat of Team India during ODI World Cup 2023 final as well.
The absence of media representatives during the pre-match press conference prior to the first Twenty20 International match between Australia and India surprised India’s acting captain, Suryakumar Yadav. Yadav was stunned that just two media showed up for the first T20I play in Vizag. He questioned the present journalists and smiled and said, “only 2 people?”
Merely four days following the ODI World Cup 2023 Final, the India vs. Australia T20I series gets underway. On November 19, Australia and India faced off in the Ahmedabad summit, with Australia emerging victorious and taking home their sixth title. A few of the World Cup team players had to get over their feelings from the final swiftly in order to focus on getting ready for the T20I series.
Suryakumar Yadav spoke about the ODI World Cup 2023 final loss. He discussed how it would be difficult to not remember that. He said, “It is difficult it will take time, it can’t be that you wake up next morning and you forget everything what happened. It was a long tournament. We would have loved to win it.”
The Indian skipper spoke about the fresh challenge. He said, “But as you get up in the morning the sun rises again, there is light at the end of the tunnel. You have to move on. It is a fresh team (T20 squad), really looking forward to the challenge.”
“We played a positive brand of cricket throughout the tournament” : Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav also spoke about the team’s epic performance throughout the ODI World Cup 2023. He spoke about the support and backing from the fans and the players’ families.
The Mumbai Indians batter said, “Obviously, a little disappointing but when you look back at the journey it was a great campaign. All of India and our families were proud of the way everyone displayed their talent on the ground. We played a positive brand of cricket throughout the tournament. We can be very proud of that.”
