In the meanwhile, his side, Bangalore, will play the Eliminator game of the Indian T20 League 2022 against Lucknow at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on May 25. The 2016-finalists, who lost the last two Eliminators in the seasons 2020 and 2021 would like to get the monkey off their back. Thus, they would like to maximize the luck they have had in the last few days.
They needed Mumbai to beat Delhi in their last league game. The Rohit Sharma-led side did the favour for the Faf du Plessis-led side and now the three-time finalists are in the playoffs. Bangalore can take motivation from the fact that they beat Lucknow during the league game. Meanwhile, former skipper Kohli got back to his old form in the game against Gujarat.
The Delhi-born player scored 73 runs at a brisk pace. Along with him, the likes of skipper Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell go back to the groove as well. The team would look to capitalize on the form of their big-ticket players with players. Besides, the likes of Dinesh Karthik, Shahbaz Ahmed, Rajat Patidar, Wanindu Hasaranaga, Harshal Patel etc already doing well. If they win this game, they will face Rajasthan in Qualifier 2 on May 27 in Ahmedabad.
