Six Indians have featured in the ODI World Cup 2023 Team of the Tournament.
The ODI World Cup 2023 saw a blistering end yesterday night with Australia being crowned champions in Ahmedabad. They overcame the favourites of the competition and regain their throne once again.
Australia was simply dominant right from the toss itself as they read and assessed the pitch better than the opposition. In a slow and sloppy wicket, the bowlers got a lot of help from their fielders. The fielding was the most glorious part of the display throughout the first innings. Whenever the ball crossed the inner circle, it was stopped or cut by an Australian player.
Their superb bowling saw them take wickets at regular intervals and did not let any batter dominate them for long. They were set a mediocre total of 241 runs and considering the dew, it should not have been any problem for them.
The Indian fast bowlers did cause them some trouble as they scalped three wickets inside the first seven overs. That was the only phase that might have caused some jitters throughout the Australian team.
Although, it was Travis Head’s day to shine once again as he took the attack to the bowlers. The opener along with Marnus Labuschagne stitched up an important partnership of 192 runs. He didn’t finish off the game in the end. However, he made sure the job was done. His impeccable performance saw Australia lift the World Cup for the sixth time in the last ten editions.

The apex cricket council took no time to announce the team of the tournament for the ODI World Cup 2023. To no one’s surprise, the team was full of runner’s up and hosts India. They had as many as six players featured in the team of the tournament. Meanwhile the rest of the team consisted of two Australians, one South African, one Sri Lankan and one from New Zealand.
