Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first on a batting paradise of a surface in Delhi. They started off well as they got wickets early on. It appeared that the pacers were moving a little bit more today. Furthermore, Sri Lanka has a great comeback from 135/5. In a rather unfortunate event, Angelo Mathews was astoundingly timed out.

Charith Asalanka batted well for his century and helped his side escape their predicament. Despite the fact that they had lost wickets at that point in the innings, he remained optimistic from the outset.

Among the many beautiful strokes Shakib played were the two soaring shots off his bowling. Shoriful Islam took the wickets, but Taskin proved impressive with the new ball. With a final score of 279, Sri Lanka’s performance is not very impressive when compared to some of the previous games played at this location.

Bangladesh chase down mediocre total in heated clash

Bangladesh had to chase down 280 runs, and they managed to get 169 thanks to a partnership involving Shakib Al Hasan as well as Najmul Hossain Shanto at the third wicket. Regardless of the late strikes towards the finish, the two left-handers, who have had a terrible World Cup, came out today to make it a reasonably comfortable win.

With several intense discussions and a few sendoffs following Mathews’ timed out earlier in the game, there was a greater amount of drama in the byplay than there had been during the main match.

There was not enough runs on the scorecard at a surface where this tournament has seen some incredible scores. Sri Lanka had some optimism after Dilshan Madushanka took two early wickets. Shakib-al Hasan appeared clumsy at first during the start of his innings. However, he and Shanto really stole the game away once he had got his eye in and the dew set in.
