Amid the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, the Apex Cricket Council has announced the latest ODI rankings. In the latest update, Indian batters have made a great comeback in the top 10 and have been the biggest earners. Star batter Virat Kohli made his comeback in the top 6, as he is now India’s second-highest-ranked batter in the ODI format.

Kohli, who was out of the top 10 batters before the Asia Cup 2023, is now reducing his gap to the top five batters. The former India skipper looks steady with his amazing batting performances in the ongoing ODI World Cup. Kohli is the second-highest run scorer in the tournament, and he will be eyeing the top three positions. Kohli currently has 747 points, just 22 points less than the number-three batter.

Meanwhile, star India opener Shubman Gill reduces the gap between him and No. 1 batter Babar Azam. The difference between the two batters is just six points as Gill marches towards the number one position with his amazing performance in the ongoing tournament. Meanwhile, Babar is also helping Gill achieve his goal with a series of poor performances in the marquee tournament. Babar’s rating points dropped to 829 while Gill’s increased to 823 as both had pole-apart performances.

Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen improve their rankings

With their outstanding performances in the ongoing tournament, South African wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen have lit up the marquee event. Their amazing performances have paid off, as both have received an upgrade in rankings. With three centuries in five games, de Kock has jumped two positions to become the number-three batter. He has an impressive rating of 769.

Meanwhile, Klassen has seen four jump positions as he is the number 4 batter with 756 points. Australia batter David Warner has seen a decrease of 2 positions in the rankings, as he is now the 5th-ranked batter. On the other hand, India skipper Rohit Sharma has seen a jump of one position as he is now the 8th-ranked batter in the ODI format with 725 rating points. Rassie Van der Dussen and Imam-Ul-Haq are the other two batters in the top 10 rankings.
