Three traffic penalties for exceeding the speed limit were issued to India’s captain Rohit Sharma. He was caught for speeding along the Mumbai-Pune expressway prior to the ODI World Cup 2023 game versus Bangladesh. Due to his speeding, the 36-year-old has gotten online traffic tickets.

The Pune Mirror said that Rohit was exceeding 200 km/h. The cricket player was on his way from his native Mumbai to join the squad prior to the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium encounter.

The player travelled in his ?4.18 crore Lamborghini with licence plate 264. The reason behind the number 264 is that it is his greatest performance in international cricket. With a 3999 cc engine, the five-seater luxury vehicle has a peak speed of 305 km/h. Its manufacturers claim that it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 200 kmph within 12.8 seconds.

The cricket player should only be travelling in the squad bus alongside a police escort, according to the traffic authority. For those who don’t know, Rohit Sharma is an avid driver. Among his many fancy vehicles were the Lamborghini Urus, Toyota Fortuner, BMW X3, Mercedes GLS 350d, and Skoda Laura.

Hours after this news was doing the rounds on social media, Maharashtra Police took matters into their hands. They came out and termed this news as fake. They also mentioned that there were no challans for Rohit Sharma
