‘Agli baar nahin kar paega’ – Fans react as Shakib Al Hasan calls himself ‘lucky’ to take Virat Kohli’s wicket five times
India and Bangladesh will play each other on October 19 in Pune.
Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan has called himself lucky to take Virat Kohli’s wicket five times in ODI cricket. The former’s statement came ahead of the India vs Bangladesh match in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 on October 19. Ahead of the game, Kohli praised Hasan and said “Over the years, I’ve played a lot against him. He’s got amazing control. He’s a very experienced bowler. He bowls very well with the new ball, knows how to deceive the batsman, and is also very economical,” Kohli told Star Sports.
On the other hand, the Bangladesh all-rounder said that it is a great pleasure to take Kohli’s wicket. “He’s a special batsman, probably the best batsman in the modern era. I think I’m lucky to get him out 5 times. Of course, it will give me great pleasure, taking his wicket.”
Hopeful for Shakib Al Hasan to play against India: Khaled Mahmud
Meanwhile, during the game against New Zealand, the left-hander sustained a let-quadricep injury. Even though he bowled 10 overs, he wasn’t at his best with the fitness. Meanwhile, team director, Mehmud is optimistic about Shakib’s chances to play against India.
“Shakib is getting better,” Mahmud said. “He is pain-free. But we will know the full scenario when he hits the nets tomorrow. He will also do running between the wickets. We are hopeful that he can play against India. He worked in a swimming session, and some upper-half work in the gym today. There will be a scan tomorrow which will give us a clearer picture of his situation.”
“Usually these injuries produce a lot of pain,” he said. “It is tough to walk around even. Shakib is quite well. It is giving us hope.
“Shakib wants to play, so if the situation is that he is 85-90% fit, like he was in the last game after getting injured, we are hopeful too. But it depends on his 100% fitness.”

Shakib Al Hasan took Virat’s wicket five time, he is saying it was lucky instead of crediting to his hard work. That shows how other team players respect virat. ?
