Prior to the match, past players and current analysts from both the nations engaged in friendly teasing and verbal sparring. Ex-cricketers from Pakistan have once more bowed to their comments and been embarrassed because of their pre-match flexing.

Shoaib Akhtar, the former fast bowler is also quite active on social media. He typically has a strong opinion about everything. The player turned analyst is one of these players who tried to take digs at the Indian team. In an effort to lighten the mood before the game, the former Pakistani bowler decided to taunt the former Team India batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar.

Shoaib Akhtar tweeted with an old photo of him dismissing Sachin Tendulkar before the game. He posted it along with the caption, “Kal agar asa kuch kerna hai, toh #ThandRakh.” Shoaib Akhtar received trolling from Sachin Tendulkar for a tweet he posted relating to the India-Pakistan ODI World Cup 2023 match. Sachin also did not hold back after India clinched yet another victory over Pakistan in ODI World Cups. He replied to the initial tweet as he wrote, “My friend, aap ka advice follow kiya aur sab kuch billlkoool THANDA rakha….”

Shoaib Akhtar apologized to Sachin Tendulkar for overextending his biceps and sent him a message of submission in response. The former Pakistani star softened his tone by claiming Sachin Tendulkar is the best of all time.

The former Pakistan fast bowler ended the conversation by saying that, “My friend you’re the greatest player of all times to have graced the game and the biggest ambassador of it. He said, “Our friendly banter doesn’t change that for sure.”
