Inspired by OMG 2, Ulhasnagar Education Society is first to add sex education to syllabus

Sex education has recently been included in the curriculum of an educational society in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra, marking a historic first. A special screening of “OMG2″ was planned in cooperation with Rekha Thakur, the secretary of the Sindhu Education Society. Respected MLA Kumar, 184 teachers, and principals from roughly 15 schools in Ulhasnagar were present at the ceremony. The film’s writer and director, Amit Rai, was also a distinguished visitor. All those in attendance responded quite favourably to the screening.

After the screening, the Sindhu Education Society announced that they would begin offering sex education as a course of study for the current academic year. The ruling represents a big victory for the filmmakers. The educational society’s reaction highlights the movie’s influence in causing changes to educational norms, even if the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has come under fire for making cuts to the movie. Given the film’s powerful message, it is clear that India is ready to make significant changes to its educational system.

The event’s in attendance Amit Rai expressed his happiness by saying, “This is something I shall always cherish. The goal of making this movie has been accomplished. I am really pleased that the movie is not just performing well at the box office, but that our message has also reached a wide audience, and we are seeing improvements taking place all around us. There is nothing more satisfying than this.”

At the box office, OMG 2 made a total of 85.05 crore in its first week of release in India after debuting there at a nett 10.26 crore. After making 6.03 crore nett on Friday, the movie saw a significant increase on Saturday. According to Sacnilk.com, OMG 2 (Hindi) achieved a 45.94 per cent overall occupancy rate on Saturday. The movie has so far generated 129 crore net worldwide, according to the web, after taking in 21.5 crore net abroad.
