‘Samajh nhi aa raha hase ya roye’ – Fans react as KL Rahul drops a massive update on making comeback
Another injured batter, Shreyas Iyer, has also started preparations for the upcoming tournaments.
Star Indian batter KL Rahul is set to make a comeback in the upcoming Asia Cup. The Karnataka batter who missed out on the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 final and a major part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has dropped a massive update on his recovery. In the latest Instagram story, Rahul can be seen doing heavy workouts during a gym session.
It is worth noting that Rahul sustained an injury during an IPL 2023 match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), forcing him to withdraw from the competition and rule himself out of the WTC Final 2023 against Australia. He is currently in rehabilitation at the NCA and is doing well. According to sources, the wicketkeeper batter will most likely make a comeback with the Asia Cup in 2023.
India is set to play in the Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka, as they will co-host the tournament with Pakistan. According to the scheduled model, PCB will host the first four games of the tournament in Pakistan, while the other nine games will be hosted by Sri Lanka. However, the final schedule for the event has yet to be announced.
Shreyas Iyer also starts preparations for the upcoming tournaments
Another injured batter, Shreyas Iyer, has also started preparations for the upcoming tournaments. He has started batting practice and net sessions in the NCA under the observation of VVS Laxman. Iyer had been suffering from a back problem for more than six months. He was ruled out of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy just a few days before the first Test in February.
Iyer also missed the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, where he captains the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and was not selected for the World Test Championship (WTC 2023) final or the tour of the West Indies. On Thursday (July 13), Iyer shared a video of himself batting in the nets, and his fans couldn’t be happier. On Instagram, he used the emoji target as the caption. After Iyer tweeted the video of his net practise, batsmen Shikhar Dhawan and Suryakumar Yadav commented on it.
Here is how fans reacted to KL Rahul’s Instagram post:

One of the most overrated cricketer of modern Indian cricket. He is everything that’s wrong with the new form of game.

What about Bumrah?
— R A T N I S H (@LoyalSachinFan) July 15, 2023
It is good that he will be playing Asia Cup. THere will be time for him to get back into form by playing games againstdifferent countries and a home series against Australia. If Iyer is not fit for Asia Cup, he should not play World Cup too.

How is this good news?
— Lodemon (@Mai_Sagar_Hoon) July 15, 2023
KL has done well in ODIs (at No.5) & Tests (as an opener).
By Asia Cup we can expect all 3 Bumrah, Iyer & KL to return, thus sorting 95% of the squad for the WC.
The only choice would be between Ishan & Dhawan as Reserve opener & Ishan & Sanju as Reserve WK (for middle order).

There should be a process were an injured player (injury longer 3-4 months) before making a comeback to Indian team he/she should have played some domestic cricket
