Senior Congress politician P. Chidambaram asks BCCI to provide exclusive coaching to Umran Malik

Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik is making big strides in the ongoing Indian T20 League 2022 with his tearaway pace bowling. Malik bowled with pace but was getting hit for big runs in the first few matches. However, since the game against Punjab, he has been able to not just crank high pace but also pick wickets with a lesser economy rate.

In that game, the right-arm pacer took a four-wicket haul including a three-wicket maiden in the last over of Punjab’s innings. On April 27, the Jammu and Kashmir player took his first five-wicket haul in the Indian T20 League against Gujarat. However, his side lost the game as the other bowlers failed to deliver.

After the game, former finance minister P. Chidambaram took to Twitter and praised the youngster.  Following his stellar performance, the former minister said that the 22-year-old is the find of the tournament. The senior Congress politician also urged India’s Cricket Governing Board to give the player an exclusive coach and quickly induct him in the national team

“The Umran Malik hurricane is blowing away everything in its way. The sheer pace and aggression are a sight to behold. After today’s performance, there can be no doubt that he is the find of this edition of IPL,” said the former finance minister.

“The BCCI should give him an exclusive coach and quickly induct him into the national team,” another tweet mentioned.

The 76-year-old, though, isn’t the only politician who is impressed by the the young sensation. Another senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor also took to Twitter a few days ago and asked the board to blood the youngster before he burns out. Tharoor also suggested to select the player in the Indian team for the Test match against England, to be played in July this year.

“We need him in India colours asap. What a phenomenal talent. Blood him before he burns out! Take him to England for the Test match greentop. He and Bumrah bowling in tandem will terrify the Angrez!”
