Since the day Royal Challengers Bangalore player Virat Kohli had an on-field argument with Lucknow Super Giants bowler Naveen-ul-Haq during an IPL 2023 encounter in Lucknow earlier this month, fans have linked everything the duo did to that event.
In a widely viral social media video, Naveen is seen getting trolled by spectators who can be heard yelling ‘Kohli, Kohli’. The video was shot at Lucknow’s Ekana cricket ground during MI’s game versus LSG. To the screams of ‘Kohli, Kohli,’ Naveen even reacted and gestured for the audience to yell louder.

Naveen was recently asked about a ‘sledging incident’ in his career in a video published by the Lucknow Super Giants. Afghanistan’s pacer recalled an incident during a First Class match. Naveen was in a conversation with LSG teammate Avesh Khan when the topic of’sledging’ came up.
“Your favourite sledge on the cricket field which is done by you or someone else?” Avesh Khan asked.
“I have never sledged anyone at first, that’s not my habit. There was a First Class game where I was at the non-striker’s end with whom I had a bit of a sledging incident. The guy fielding at slip position was recently married. He asked us to finish the game quickly as it was the last wicket. He said he needed to go home because of some work. That is one sledging incident I remember from the First Class Game,” replied Naveen.
Avesh added, “This was a funny incident but what about a serious one.” Naveen responded, “Serious one never happened.”
In the meantime, in the match played on Tuesday, LSG defeated MI. The Super Giants produced an above-par total of 177 runs on this wicket thanks to Marcus Stonis’ excellence with the bat. He scored 89 runs in just 47 balls, which included four boundaries and eight sixes.
MI got off to a brilliant start with Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan striking beautifully. However, a slew of wickets let them down and they fell short by just five runs to hand LSG the much-needed win in the match.
