‘Phir Rahul ko jhelna padega’ – Fans react as Rishabh Pant is reportedly ruled out of ODI World Cup
The 24-year-old wicketkeeper-batter suffered serious injuries while travelling to his native house in Roorkee to celebrate New Year with family
Star India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who has been sidelined since a near-fatal car accident in December 2022, is probably going to miss the Asia Cup in September and the World Cup in October-November. People close to Pant said that it will take him at least a few weeks to walk without assistance after he was recently observed using crutches during the Delhi Capitals’ IPL 2023 game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
In a recent news report, it has been said that Pant’s recovery period is set to extend as the batter is responding a little bit late. Rishabh Pant’s return to play will therefore take some time, though it would still be considered a fairly quick recovery if he were to return to the pitch by January.
Though it is widely agreed that he is recuperating more quickly than anticipated, it will still take him seven to eight months to be cricket-fit. Additionally, it is anticipated that it will take him a lot longer to prepare for the demands of wicketkeeping, so his comeback will have to start out as just a batter.
Rishabh Pant suffered serious injuries due to a car accident
The 24-year-old wicketkeeper-batter suffered serious injuries while travelling to his native house in Roorkee to celebrate New Year with family. He suffered fatal injuries when his car struck the divider near Roorkee. The Indian Cricket Board transferred Rishabh Pant to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute in Mumbai after he received his first treatment for burns and other injuries at the Max Hospital in Dehradun.
Notably, He is being treated by Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, head of the Centre for Sports Medicine and director of Arthroscopy & Shoulder Service at the aforementioned hospital, here after having surgery for ligament rips in January.

This was known much before, his recovery will take over a year. With the World Cup starting from October this year, isn't it obvious?
