Rajasthan, the 2008 champions, are the most recent to join the trend, sharing their jersey on Twitter with a heartwarming twist. The management, along with Sanju Samson, decided to award the groundsmen with their first jersey of the season in recognition of their tremendous efforts.

“At Royals, I feel our ‘firsts’ are very important and very special. So this season, myself and the whole management have decided that we will give our first jersey of the season to the groundsmen. Wanted to thank them for all the care they have given us,” Samson told in the clip shared by Royals.
Notably, the Rajasthan-based franchise had a successful season, reaching the event’s finals in 2022. It is worth noting that the team finished second in the points table with nine wins in 14 games, securing a spot in the playoffs. In addition, Samson was in great form at the helm, scoring 458 runs in 17 innings and recording two half-centuries.
In the December mini-auction, the team paid INR 5.75 crore for the services of Jason Holder, Donovan Ferreira, Adam Zampa, and Murugan Ashwin, among others. With a strong squad for the 2023 season, Rajasthan will aim for a better season and a title challenge. On Sunday, April 2, the Royals will kick off their season against Aiden Markram’s Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
