‘Hum Bangalore hain, aakhir tak haar nahi maante’- Twitter still hopeful as Bangalore win their second WTL match after Virat Kohli’s pep talk
Bangalore have moved to 4th on the table.
In a highly entertaining encounter in the Women’s T20 League 2023, Bangalore comfortably beat Gujarat by 8 wickets to move to the fourth position in the points table. Gujarat, who won the toss and chose to bat, started off strongly with Laura Wolvaardt leading the charge with a brilliant knock of 68 off just 42 deliveries, including nine fours and two sixes. Ashleigh Gardner also played a vital role in the innings, smashing 41 off 26 balls.
Bangalore’s bowlers did well to contain Gujarat’s innings, restricting them to 188/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Shreyanka Patil was the pick of the bowlers for Bangalore, finishing with figures of 2/26. Sophie Devine and Preeti Bose also picked up a wicket each.
In response, Bangalore got off to a flying start with their opener, Sophie Devine, playing a sensational knock of 99 off just 36 balls. She hit nine fours and eight sixes, single-handedly taking the game away from Gujarat. Her opening partner, Shafali Verma, also played a good knock of 46 off 29 balls, including six fours and two sixes.
Gujarat bowlers could not do much to stop the Bangalore batters as they raced to the target of 189 in just 15.3 overs, losing only two wickets in the process. Kim Garth and Sneh Rana were the only bowlers to pick up a wicket each for GG.
With this win, Bangalore moved to the fourth position in the points table with four points, while Gujarat dropped to fifth with the same number of points but a poor net run rate. This victory will boost Bangalore’s confidence going forward in the tournament, while Gujarat will need to regroup and come up with a better performance in their next match.
Overall, it was an exciting match with some excellent performances from both teams. Sophie Devine’s knock was undoubtedly the highlight of the match, and it will be remembered as one of the best innings in the history of the Women’s T20 League.

I guess this was the kind of batting performance everyone thought RCB would put out each match post the auction. Didn't click for some reason.
