“Ehsan faramosh Ben Stokes” – English captain set to miss last leg of Indian T20 League

Star English allrounder and England Test captain Ben Stokes is likely to miss the latter stages of the Indian T20 League for the Chennai franchise. Stokes has stated that he will be coming back to England to captain the squad against Ireland in a single Test match and later will prepare for the Ashes against Australia. Notably, the sole Test against Ireland will commence on June 1 while the final of the Indian T20 League will be played on 28th May.

Ben Stakes was picked by the Chennai franchise during the mini-auction conducted last year. His decision to pull out from the league has come as a setback for the franchise as it is already dealing with the unavailability of Kyle Jemison.

“Yes, I’ll play,” Stokes told reporters after England’s 267-run win over New Zealand in the first Test when asked if he will play the Ireland Test. “I’ll be making sure that I give myself enough time to get back and play that (Ireland) game.”

Stokes further said that he will discuss what is needed for them to prepare for the Ashes with other England Test players who are scheduled to play in the Indian T20 League. Depending on the outcome, they will either stay with their respective franchises or return to England.

“I’ll probably get round the individuals and ask them what they want to be ready for for the Ashes, because those five games are the big ones of the summer, and you’ve got to think about what lads want. But what if something was to happen in that game (Ireland) and we lose someone for the Ashes.”

It’s just one of those where you have to weigh up the options of what the person wants out of that week, versus do we need to play that one. Because I’m right in saying that series is bigger than that game against Ireland,” said Stokes.

England beat New Zealand by a massive margin

England’s aggressive brand of cricket continues to reduce its opponents to taste the dust. Whatever obstacles they have faced, they have been able to overcome them. And as a result, they have triumphed in 10 of the 11 games played with Stokes and McCullum. In the first Test against New Zealand England beat Kiwis by 267 runs on their home ground.

However, Stokes’s comment didn’t go well with the fans as they react furiously. One social media user wrote on Twitter, “Ehsan pharamos Ben Stokes.”
