Fielders these days have become very athletic and always give it their all to complete a catch. Saving the ball from going over the boundary line in an acrobatic manner is no big deal for the fielders. However, an incident from a recent tennis-ball local game has taken things to another level.

A fielder was seen kicking the ball inside the field of play to complete a catch in a video that has gone viral on the internet. The fielder caught the ball while jumping in the air, but as he was going over the boundary line during the jump, he tried to push the ball inside the field.

As it turns out, the ball was not thrown far enough. He quickly recognised the situation and jumped in the air to kick the ball inside the field of play. His teammate then completed the catch, and the batter was sent back.

Reacting to the viral video of the catch, former Indian great Sachin Tendulkar said that this is what the result would be if you bring in the guy who also plays Football. “This is what happens when you bring a guy who also knows how to play football!!” he wrote.

Here is the viral video and Sachin Tendulkar’s reply

In response to Sachin’s remark, one fan felt it should have been a six.  “It’s a six. The rule should be changed anyway. The new rule should be: “If no part of the body of the fielder is inside the boundary and he has touched the ball more than once, then it should be an over-boundary,” wrote the fan.

Sachin Tendulkar, widely regarded as the greatest batter in cricket history, is the all-time leading run-scorer in both ODI and Test cricket. He also holds the record for most man-of-the-match awards in international cricket. Sachin was well-known for his bowling and fielding abilities in addition to his batting prowess. He was a member of India’s winning ODI World Cup squad in 2011.
