WATCH: Kieron Pollard smashes 26 runs in one over against West Indies counterpart Andre Russell in ILT20 game

Kieron Pollard has been in sublime form in the ongoing International League T20 (ILT20) 2023. Captaining the MI Emirates side in the tournamnet, Pollard has scored 337 runs in the eight matches that he has played so far. He has also hit three fifties in the tournament so far.
On Friday (3rd February), he was at it once again as he smashed 43 runs in just 17 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. However, the highlight of the innings was the 18th over bowled by his West Indies counterpart Andre Russell.
The star all-rounder scored 26 runs against Russell, including two fours on the first two balls, a double on the third ball, a six on the fourth ball, and another four on the next ball. He finished the over with a powerful six over the mid-on region, his second of the over. A video of the same has gone viral on the internet.

Pollard is the ILT20’s second-highest run-scorer currently, having scored 337 runs. Pollard’s strike rate is also an incredible 198.23. So far in the inaugural season of ILT20, the 35-year-old has three half-centuries.
In the meantime, Pollard announced his retirement from the Indian T20 League in November of last year, ending his 13-year association with the Mumbai franchise. He will, however, continue to work for the team as a batting coach.
Pollard appeared in 189 Indian T20 League games for the five-time champions, scoring 3412 runs at a strike rate of 147.32. Pollard has also taken 69 wickets in the cash-rich league. The West Indian made his debut in a match against Delhi in 2010. He was last seen in action against the Kolkata Knight Riders in May of last year.
Coming back to the ILT20, Kieron Pollard’s MI Emirates are currently third in the standings. MI Emirates has 11 points after winning five of their first nine games. They will play their last league game against Dubai Capitals on the 5th of February.
