Babar Azam, the Pakistani skipper, has been hitting the headlines post facing criticism on the back of losing the Test series against England 0-3, their first-ever whitewash in their 75 years history. The English brigade won the third Test by 8 wickets, chasing a target of 167 with the help of Ben Duckett’s unbeaten 82.

Eventually, amid a rumoured rift with the PCB chief Ramiz Raja, Babar hit back at the chief claiming that the mindset cannot be changed without giving the players, the deserved time. For the unversed, Raja claimed that the Pakistani players must play with a T20 mindset in the longest format of the game.

Anguished by the same, Babar hit back saying that it will not be possible to change things overnight. “The door is not shut for anyone. There is a set plan for everything and we have it for every format. You can’t change things in a day or week. It takes time. For mindset to change, it takes time. Then, if we start playing defensively, journalists will ask why we don’t play aggressively and when we play aggressively, they ask why we don’t play the other way,” Babar was quoted as saying.

Support pours in for Babar Azam from all ends

As things stand, the likes of Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi took to Twitter to extend their support to the talented batter. The left-arm pacer lauded Babar and said that the talismanic batter is the pride of the country. “Babar Azam Hamari or Pakistan ki Shan, jaan or pehchan hai. Wo Hamara kaptaan hai or rahe ga. Kuch or #sochnabhimanah hai. Please support this team. Yahi team hame jitaye gi bhi. Kahani abhi Khatam nahi howi. #Respect,” Afridi tweeted.

Rauf, on the other hand, took to Twitter to extend his support and claimed that the batter who is enjoying a prolific run would always be their captain. “Ap hamaray leader ho or raho ga hamesha inshallah #sochnabemanahai #Respect (You are our leader and you will always be inshallah)” Rauf tweeted. However, fans left no stone unturned to take a dig at the players for not admitting Babar’s failures and rather praising him.

As things stand, let us take a look at a few Twitter reactions to Haris Rauf’s tweet:
