Jos Buttler hilariously responds to Yuzvendra Chahal who wants to become Rajasthan’s opener
Fans expected that the jokes of Yuzvendra Chahal opening the innings with Jos Buttler have ended with the start of the Indian T20 League. It started last month when Chahal posted a tweet and said that he will open the innings with Buttler if the Tweet he posted got 10000 retweets. Notably, more than 10000 people retweeted it. After this, the tweet was shown to the Englishman and his reaction was recorded by Rajasthan’s social media team as well.
In a video posted by the franchise on Instagram prior to the commencement of the Indian T20 league 2022, the leg-spinner asked Buttler whether the latter will open the innings with him. The right-hander put his hand on his forehand in disbelief and didn’t say anything. The all-rounder James Neesham was seen laughing in the background as well. Meanwhile, the conversation has resumed and once again, the spinner has asked to open the batting.
In reply, the 2019 World Cup winner agreed, but sarcastically. He added that ever since Chahal has joined the team, the latter has been asking to bat at the top. The Taunton-born player further added that he needs to keep scoring to keep Chahal away from his batting position.
“Absolutely! Ever since you turned up this year, you have been putting pressure on the opening spot. Have to take my time to score some runs to keep you on the outside,” Jos Buttler told Yuzvendra Chahal in a video posted on the Indian T20 league website.
On April 3, the duo was the architect of Rajasthan’s second consecutive win of the tournament. Buttler scored a 66-ball 100 to help his team post the total of 193/8. Chahal took two back-to-back wickets in the middle overs to ensure that his side won the game by 23 runs against Mumbai.
