Watch: “Humare top 4 mein sabse zyada quality KL main hai” – Gautam Gambhir ranks KL Rahul ahead of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
Gautam Gambhir, the former Indian opener, rated KL Rahul as the best batter in India’s top 4 and said that he has the best mindset among all. In a conversation with the Lucknow franchise from the Indian T20 League ahead of the clash against Pakistan on October 23, Sunday, Gambhir said that Rahul has the highest quality between him, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the Indian batting order.
KL Rahul has been on the receiving end for his continued poor strike rate and his failure to convert his start into a big score. However, in the warm-up game against Australia, the batter scored 57 runs off 33 balls and powered India to a total of 186. The former Indian cricketer, who was impressed with Rahul, said that the right-handed batter will play well in Australia and added that the Australian surfaces will suit his batting style and strokeplay a lot.
“Humare top 3 ya top 4 mein sabse zyada agar kisi mein quality hai, toh wo KL Rahul ke paas hai! (If anyone has the highest quality in our top 3 or top 4, then it is with Rahul!” Gambhir said in the conversation.

Will Rahul shine against Pakistan?
As the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma will look to avenge Pakistan on Sunday’s clash at Melbourne, it remains to be seen if Rahul can emulate the same energy from the warm-up game against Australia in the epic clash as well. However, the main concern with the Indian batter would be his strike rate. Albeit the 30-year-old has scored 4 fifties to his name this year, the strike rate could haunt India in crunch situations.
KL Rahul would look to make a statement with his bat in the opening clash against Babar Azam and his men. Pakistan, on the other hand, would look to come up with tight deliveries against the batter and restrict his flow of runs. A win in the first match for team India could give them an effective and emphatic start to the showpiece event.
