Watch: Sara Bejlek’s hug with her father breaks the internet, fans find the act to be creepy
Sara Bejlek, the 16-year-old Tennis star lost the first round of the US Open against Liudmila Samsonova of Russia but the Czech star is not in the headlines for the same reason. A viral video is now surfacing on the internet where the Czech star can be seen celebrating her qualification for her first-ever grand slam on Friday. A man popped out of nowhere and hugged her as she patted her back numerous times before going on to kiss her which did not go well with fans.
The man was later identified to be none other than her father and it ignited the fire even more. The star won the match against Britain’s Heather Watson coming from behind and the cameras kept focusing on her celebrations. Eventually, the hug from her father was caught on air. Many users pointed out the same and accused him of being creepy and highlighted that a father never does that to his daughter.
Although Bejlek clarified it later, it hurt a lot of people and some of them are yet to forget the incident. While the Czech star kept facing a lot of backlashes, a few backed her up saying that it was just a friendly gesture from her father which did not go well with the critics.

‘It won’t happen again’: Sara Bejlek
Sara Bejlek crashed out of the US Open in the first round after losing against Liudmila Samsonova in straight sets and clarified on the incident during the press conference.
“It was a spontaneous reaction of the whole team. We rejoiced. It may certainly seem inconvenient and uncomfortable to some, but we have already discussed it with the team. It won’t happen again,” the Czech star explained.
However, she did not shy away from defending her dad as all proud daughters do and highlighted on the ways that her father helps her post matches.
“Dad is my dad and always will be. And I’ve known the coach since I was 8 years old. He tapes me, he massages me. If something similar happened in the Czech Republic, no one would deal with it. But since we are in America, everyone comments on it. But as I say, we talked and it won’t happen again,” she explained further.
