Pakistani players greeted players from India and Sri Lanka ahead of the Asia Cup 2022
The Asia Cup 2022 will kick off on August 27 at Dubai International Stadium. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are set to lock horns in the season opener, followed by an electrifying India and Pakistan clash on August 28 at the same venue. The players usually reach the venue a couple of days before any major tournament and it has been the same way this time around too. The cricket board of Pakistan shared a wholesome video where the Pakistani players can be seen greeting players from India and Sri Lanka.
One moment that caught the eye was when Rishabh Pant enquired about the injured Shaheen Afridi and wished him well. The Pakistani pace spearhead shared a hilarious joke with the Delhi batter and expressed his desire to hit one-hand sixes. Pant replied to him saying that he needed to put in the effort as he was a fast bowler and then went on to enquire about his health.
“Yaar main soch raha hu aapki tarah bas batting shuru kar du, ek haath se chhakke lagaau (I’m thinking of becoming a batter like you, start hitting sixes with a single hand),” the Pakistani joked. The Indian wicketkeeper was quick enough to come with a reply and it was one moment to remember for the fans. “Fast bowler ho toh effort lagaana padega sir! Compulsory hai (If you’re a fast bowler, you have to put in effort. It’s compulsory),” the southpaw replied.

Indian veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was the first guy to approach the injured player and enquire about his recovery. The duo were seen hugging and sharing greetings ahead of the much-awaited clash on August 28. The Indian legend Virat Kohli followed him right after and quickly checked on the Pakistani youngster.
Shaheen Afridi has travelled with the team at the skipper’s request and he will stay with the team in the hotel. The pacer is currently being monitored and will return to competitive cricket for the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Once Pant left the place, KL Rahul, who returned for the Zimbabwe tour, checked on Afridi and wished him well. Coaches and staff from both India and Pakistan were seen having a quick chat with each other and fans felt the video to be a wholesome one.
Towards the end of the video, Pakistani allrounder Shadab Khan was seen having a brief conversation with Sri Lankan pacer Dasun Shanaka before he left for the net session.
