In the 42nd match of the Indian Premier League 2023, Mumbai Indians beat Rajasthan Royals by six wickets at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. Riding on Yashasvi Jaiswal’s amazing century, RR posted a massive total of 212/7 in 20 overs. MI, with the help of Tim David and Suryakumar Yadav‘s amazing batting performances, chased it in the last over.

Batting first after winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals got an amazing start as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, along with Jos Buttler, hammered MI bowlers all around the park. The duo added 72 runs off 50 balls for the first wicket. Buttler scored 18 runs off 19 balls with the help of two boundaries and a six. However, he was dismissed by Piyush Chawla in the eighth over of the game.

After his departure, Jaiswal, single-handedly, took RR to a massive total as he scored 124 runs off 62 balls with the help of 16 boundaries and eight maximums. Jaiswal hammered every bowler before getting dismissed on a controversial delivery.

As he was given out by the officials, the ball seemed to be a waist-height no ball. Nevertheless, Rajasthan Royals scored 212/7 in overs. For MI, Arshad Khan shined with the bowl as he clinched three wickets. Meanwhile, Ace spinner Piyush Chawla clinched two wickets in the game. Pacer Jofra Archer and Riley Meredith clinched a wicket each.

Tim David clinched an amazing victory for MI

Chasing 200+, MI got a shaky start as skipper and birthday boy Rohit Sharma got dismissed for 3 runs off 5 balls. He was removed by Sandeep Sharma in the very second over of the game. After his departure, Ishan Kishan along with Camron Green added 62 runs for the second wicket. Kishan, in his innings, scored 28 runs off 23 balls with the help of four boundaries.

Meanwhile, Green continued to hammer as he scored 44 runs off 26 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes. When he was nearing his well-deserved half-century he was dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin. After his dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav, along with Tilak Verma, added 51 runs for the fourth wicket.

Suryakumar Yadav in his innings scored 55 runs off 29 balls with the help of eight boundaries and two sixes. He was dismissed by Trent Boult in the 16th over of the game. In the end, Tim David and Tilka Verma added unbeaten 62 runs for the fifth wicket. Verma, in his innings, scored 29 runs off 21 balls with the help of three boundaries and a six, while Tim David scored 45 runs off 14 balls with the help of two boundaries and five sixes.

This is MI’s fourth victory of the season and the team would like to continue the winning run. They will face Punjab Kings on Wednesday at the PCA Stadium in Mohali in their next game. On the other hand, this is Rajasthan Royals’ fourth loss in the nine games and the team would like to make a comeback in their next game.
