Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 mints 123 crore in 13 days!
OMG 2 has earned 123 crore at the box office, alongside Gadar 2, in less than two weeks after its debut. It stars Pankaj Tripathi, Yami Gautam and Akshay Kumar in prominent roles. Fans have been loving the movie and its social message for everyone.
The film OMG 2 starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi has surpassed the $100 million milestone, but weekday performance has dropped. According to preliminary estimates published by Sacnilk.com, the movie made 3 crores on its second Wednesday. The 12-day total is at 123.72 crore.
Along with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Rajinikanth’s Jailer, which both achieved enormous box office success, OMG 2 was released. OMG 2 made $10.26 crore when it debuted in theatres on August 11 and reached $85 crore within a week. After earning 12 crore on its second Sunday, it has maintained a steady income of between 3 and 3.75 crore since its second Monday.
Akshay Kumar’s wins big with OMG 2:
Twinkle Khanna, Akshay’s wife and a writer, sent the actor a heartfelt congratulations on the success of OMG 2 on Wednesday. Twinkle shared the movie’s collection poster and a letter she had written to Akshay on Instagram. She wrote, “Congratulations Mr. K! I’m really proud of you—a film that both challenges the status quo and disrupts the box office.” Even Bobby Deol complimented her and Akshay in the comments section on the movie’s success.
The film, which was directed by Amit Rai, explores the state of sex education in Indian schools. Yami Gautam also appears in it. But the movie has an A certificate, which the censor board gave it after certain changes. On social media, everyone from Govind Namdev to OMG 2 actor Pankaj Tripathi has expressed their worry about the situation.
Akshay also thanked moviegoers and wished Gadar 2 success after being overwhelmed by the great response that OMG 2 has received since its debut alongside Gadar 2. “A big thank you to our audiences for all the love for #OhMyGadar and giving us the greatest week in Indian film history,” he said on his social media platforms, referring to the “Oh My Gadar” craze.
Following the underwhelming box office performance of Akshay’s prior flicks, OMG 2 has proven to be a commercial success. In the movie Selfiee earlier this year, he was last seen with Emraan Hashmi.
