ACC Women’s T20 Championship: Match 17, 18, 19 & 20- Review

ACC Women's Championship 2022

The league stage of the ACC Women’s T20 Championship has ended and with that, the four Semi-Finalists have been revealed. The hosts Malaysia Women and UAE from group A and Hong Kong Women and Nepal Women have reached the semi-final of this year’s ACC T20 Championship.

Let’s review the last four games of the tournament as they happened.

Match 17: Malaysia Women vs Oman Women:

In the 17th match, Malaysia and Oman clashed where Malaysia had a chance to win the match and go top of the table. They did exactly that after being asked to bat first. The hosts made 135/4 runs and in return bowled out the opponents on just 82/6. With this win, the Malaysia team went to the top with six points. Oman, with just one point, remains at the bottom.

Match 18: Hong Kong Women vs Kuwait Women

In the 18th match, Hong Kong and Kuwait met in the clash of Group B, where Hong Kong had the chance to move to the top of the table and that’s what they did. After winning the toss, Kuwait asked Hong Kong to bat first. Hong Kong team amassed 90 runs at the loss of eight wickets. In reply, Kuwait failed to reach the target and were out for just 60 runs on the board.

Match 19th: UAE Women vs Qatar Wome

The 19th game saw the highest score in the championship by the UAE team. Batting against the Qatar team, the UAE amassed a huge 214/1 on the back of Esha Rohit’s 115 off of 67 balls. She hit 18 boundaries and three maximums on the way to her century. Theertha Satish also came up with an impressive 55 off of 42 to help the team notch the highest score of this championship. In reply, Qatar only mustered 61 runs at the loss of seven wickets.

Match 20: Bhutan Women vs Bahrain Women

The last game of the ACC Women’s T20 League saw Bhutan and Bahrain pitched against each other. Bahrain won the toss and asked Bhutan to bat first. Bhutan were able to make 126 runs at the loss of two wickets. Dechen Wangmo was the highest scorer with 64 off of 52 runs.

In reply, Bahrain fell flat at 63/6, with only Tharanga Gajanayake crossing into the two-digit score. Bhutan and Bahrain sit at the very bottom after this game with sub-par performances throughout the tournament.
