‘Abe ye Rohit ne he warning di hogi’ – Fans react to reports of Team India players getting warning for posting yo-to test scores online
Virat Kohli posted a story yesterday morning after completing his fitness test and revealed his personal score as well.
The national team players received a verbal warning from the Indian Cricket Board after star batter Virat Kohli posted his Yo-Yo test result on social media. The apex board urged the players to refrain from revealing what it deemed to be “confidential information” on social media.
Team India is now in the middle of a five-day skill-enhancement session in Alur, Karnataka, as they begin their route to the vital Asia Cup 2023 campaign. To gauge their level of fitness for the ACC tournament, participants had to take the “Yo-Yo” test prior to camp.
Through this, former India captain Kohli published a selfie on his story on Instagram along with the result of his Yo-Yo test. He posted it with the caption, “The happiness of finishing the Yo Yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 done.”
While the Indian Cricket Board members were unamused by Kohli’s post, a verbal warning had been issued to each of the players, advising them not to divulge secret information as it may result in contract breach.
One of the officials from the Indian Cricket Board spoke to Indian Express and said that, “Players have been informed verbally to avoid posting any confidential matter on social media platforms. They can post pictures while training but posting a score leads to breach of contract clause.”
Indian cricket team and it’s Asia Cup preparations
The think tank has enlisted 14 net bowlers for the five-day camp in Alur in order to guarantee the ‘quality of practise sessions’. On September 2, the Men in Blue will play their first game at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, Sri Lanka, against their bitter rivals, Pakistan.
The team’s captain, Rohit Sharma, will remain in charge, and Hardik Pandya was officially appointed as his replacement for the Asia Cup tournament. In order to strengthen particular areas and assemble a core team that is ready for the eagerly awaited 2023 ODI World Cup, Team India will travel to the Asia Cup.
