‘Ab isko drop kar denge’ – Fans react as Sanju Samson falls for just 9 runs against West Indies in second ODI
After India thrashed West Indies in the first ODI by five wickets all eyes were on the changes which the India team management will make for the second ODI. The Indian team did make changes and rested both the skipper Rohit Sharma as well as former Indian skipper Virat Kohli for the match and included the services of Axar Patel and the much-awaited return of the wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson in the lineup.
But Sanju Samson fell to make an impact in the all-important match for him. Considering the chances and also the final round of auditions that is going on this was an essential chance which the wicketkeeper batter had. With just over two months left for the World Cup, India will be playing just over 10 matches so every opportunity which is presented is as important as it gets.
The India batter scored just 9 runs in the 19 deliveries that he faced. His dismissal of Yannic Cariah showed that he did not pick the line as well as the turn from the bowler and ended up edging it into the hands of Brandon King who was stationed at first slip.
Let us now look at how fans reacted on Twitter after this dismissal of Samson;

India has failed to identify its playing XI, who could deliver consistent performance to lift the World Cup. It has wasted valuable time on experiments. Too much cooks spoil the broth. It has focused on senior quota most of the time and now is testing new ones.

India stumbled after 90/0 to 113/5
The West Indies won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first and the Indian team got off to a good start with the duo of Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan combining well together to stitch a great opening stand of 90 runs before the former fell to the spin Gudakesh Motie try up accelerate the innings. After the initial wicket fell his batting partner Kishan also fell quickly.
At one stage, India were cruising along quite nicely with 90/0 but once the openers fell in quick secession there was a flurry of wickets and the Indian team were left reeling at one stage with 113/5 before the rain interrupted the play. Apart from the openers no Indian batter can really get going on the pitch which certainly had something for the bowlers but there were a lack of batting implementation from the likes of Samson as well as the skipper Hardik Pandya.
