‘Ab haare ho to ye sab karna hi padega’ – Fans react as Mohammed Siraj hugs Phil Salt after their on-field altercation during DC vs RCB clash

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Mohammed Siraj was involved in a verbal spat with Delhi Capitals (DC) batter Phil Salt during the 50th match of IPL 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday. In the fifth over of DC innings when they were chasing a target of 182 runs, Salt hit Siraj for two sixes and a four, After that, Siraj bowled a wide delivery which led to a heated conversation between both the players. DC skipper David Warner also got involved before the on-field Umpires decided to separate them.

As things were looking heated up at that moment after the match ended, Siraj and Salt settled things by hugging each other when all players from both teams were shaking hands. Siraj, who is having a great season with the ball so far, had an off day against DC as he went wicketless and got smashed for 28 runs in two overs he bowled. On the other hand, Salt was awarded with the player of the Match for his match-winning knock of 87 runs due to which DC won the game by 7 wickets.

DC completely outplayed RCB’s bowling to chase the winning total

Talking about the match, RCB skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first. Du Plessis and Virat Kohli gave a fine start to the visitors by adding 82 runs for the first wicket in 10.3 overs. The RCB skipper got out after scoring 45 runs off 32 balls hitting five four and one six. While Kohli went on to score his sixth half-century of the season as he got out after after scoring 55 off 46 balls with five boundaries.

Kohli added 55 runs for the third wicket with Mahipal Lomror who remained unbeaten by scoring 54 runs off 29 deliveries hitting six four and three sixes, due to which RCB posted a total of 181 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.

Chasing the winning total, David Warner (22 off 14) and Phil Salt gave a flying to DC by adding 60 runs for the first wicket in 5.1 overs. After that, Salt added another 59 runs with Mitchell Marsh who got out after scoring 26 off 17. Meanwhile, Salt got out after scoring 87 off 45 balls with eight fours and six sixes. Rilee Rossouw (35 off 22) finished the game with a six as DC successfully chased the winning total in just 16.4 over losing 3 wickets.
