After competing in the Olympic Games in 1928 and 1932, Chand led the Indian team at the 1936 Berlin Games, scoring three goals in the 8-1 victory over Germany in the championship game.
The former Indian Captain scored as many as 101 goals in the history of the Olympics, the most by any player in the tournament. However, he scored the most number of these goals in the first edition India was a part of in 1928.
Major Dhyan Chand of India has the most international goals in classic field hockey with 570 goals in 185 international games.
